If you're procuring products or services that use AI, involve procurement colleagues early.
Follow the Procurement Journey guidance and your organisation's procurement and governance processes.
Before choosing a supplier, understand:
- how AI is used in the product or service
- the risks associated with the system
- how decisions or outputs can be explained
- who remains accountable for decisions
- the data protection and information security implications
Consider whether the supplier can explain:
- how the system works
- how it has been tested
- how risks are monitored and managed
