Getting your service on the mygov.scot app

The mygov.scot app is a beta project that will work with our digital components. It will provide the means for people to access public services.

The app is targeted at all Scottish public services. The future goal is to eventually have all our services available on the app.

The app is made up of a native (mobile) application and a web application. Services onboarded to the app will be onboarded to both the native and web applications.

The app will not offer bespoke functionality for individual services. You will need to have your service already operating and ready. The app will only surface existing public services, the app team will not build your service for you. Learn more about building or improving your service.

Why publish on the app

The app will help your users:

  • find and return services relevant to them
  • find out the status of applications, decisions and other processes
  • regularly return to a central place to access public services and information
  • also access the logged in web app
  • in the future, be served personalised content and notifications

The app will help your service:

  • become multi-channel
  • send out secure messages and notifications
  • ensure that personal data and user preferences are up to date through automatic integration with ScotAccount
  • alert users to changes in the status of their applications
  • save money through not building your own app unnecessarily
  • in the future, access data already given by users through other services on the app
